Do You Believe in Prayer?

Do we believe in prayer?  Do we really believe that the God of heaven listens to us when we pray?  Do we really believe that God intervenes in our lives in response to prayer?  There are times when I wonder.

A tavern was being built in a town that had previously been dry. In opposition to the tavern, a group of Christians began an all night prayer meeting and asked God to intervene.

Lightning struck the tavern and burned it down. The owner then brought a lawsuit against the church and held them responsible. The Christians hired a lawyer and denied responsibility.

In response to this unusual scenario, the judge said, "No matter how this case comes out, one thing is clear. The tavern owner believes in prayer, and the Christians do not."

How about you?  Do you believe?

With Love
Mike

I think the christians believe in prayer also, because they prayed to God. And plus, their lawer is right, the christian were not responsible for what happen.

I agree with Adeline but would add that unless you are spending time in God's word and praying daily along with devotions.. your faith can become weak.  Jesus said, "Without Faith you cannot please God."  Obviously they believed enough to even attempt to pray for God's intervening in this situation. Ask in FAITH and pray God's will.  Then stand back and watch our dear Lord work a great work!

Prayer can move mountain. A tavern, with pray,
can come tumbling down if its in opposition to God. Gods people only believe and all things will be possible.
